OP,

I have no enough dog quality knowledge  to offer to you like others did except this piece of info I myself learned, collecting info about various types of GSD is good and the right thing to do but is only one side of the coin. The other side comes after you have chosen a breeder.

all breeders produce varying grades of dog quality, not all litters are of same quality and not all puppies in a litter are of same quality. So if you are not qualified enough to select your dream puppy have someone help you do that. Good puppies usually go to the more informed and more important customers, less informed and trusting customers get the least quality. A breeder with the best reputation would not steal your money, but he/she too would get good and less good puppies in their litters and you might not get one of their best.

I agree with Ibrahims post mostly. But I do not agree withe notion that best pups do not go to least educated buyer.  Best educated buyer may make best choice for  his purpose and need for the dog but I would not say that generally the worst pups from a litter go to least educated buyer. That would indicate that  there are no reputable breeders and that they all take advantage of uneducated buyer. That is not so.  There are many honest breeders who will sell the correct pup for specific need of a buyer. I would venture to say that majority of breeders are doing that. Some do it better and some do it not so well since they themselves are not too educated but are not dishonest.

Only for the record: Every country that is a member of WUSV ( and Czechoslovakia is a full memeber of WUSV for several decades now) is able to trial and breed survey their dogs according to WUSV, SV does accept these titles without problems ( either WUSV German judge or WUSV foreign judge ).
Same with HD results ( A6 foreign country ).

There seems to be some disagrement of what the SV will and will not accept, Hans I wanted to ask your opinon on some dogs, as far the Rush dog that canczechdogs owns do you like that male,do you think he is good producer? Do you have a stud in your own kennel that you feel would produce in a like manner ? I am trying to learn more about some Czech lines,do you like the female Warra Gymor ? do you like alot of dogs that came out of her, I also see alot of Czech dogs theses day that end in the name dvora is this thing a good name to have in a dogs lines if one is looking for a balanced dog that you talked about,,,,,I personaly like dogs on the high prey drive side, and I like a dog with solid sound strong nerves and I do like a dog that can be around kids and a dog not wanting to kill most other dogs that they see and not come up the leash when I give a correction or have to wear a bite suit during training. Also I do not know the system that the Czechs used to certify hips and elbows so what do I what to see when attached to a czech dogs name, letters or numbers to show the dogs Xrays showing excellent results,I like what you said about gold is where you find it and same with  good dogs they are where you find them.

That´s what I said, Duke - either WUSV German judge or WUSV foreign judge according to the WUSV rules. Am I wrong?

by duke1965 on 30 May 2014 - 19:05

most countries dont have SV recognized judges , ony swiss, austria and one in holland as for as I know, these rules are there to promote the german dogs and judges

for example many german breeders wanted to breed amigo zamat, he was allowed to attend to several worldchampionships, WUSV ,  but could not bred any german dogs

Not able to copy/paste...

Duke, I really only was able to find two Czech show judges...
So they are allowed, but they don´t have SV trial judges, and would need to invite them from somewhere else...
Okay, as a Czech, I wouldn´t be interested, too, they do have their ZVV trials, no real reason to change...

That much about theory and practice ...

Amigo´s problem was not the trial part for sure, I think he wasn´t shown and had no breed survey - correct me, if I´m wrong.
