Negative selling?? Am I selling something?

Again, there are varying shades of sable. Some carry a black recessive; some don't. I really hate to make a big deal about a certain shade of sable over another, as if it's some great accomplishment. I like strong color and good pigment regardless of the actual color, whether bicolor or sable or black and tan/red....I just can't get that excited about super dark sables, though they're pretty. Give me Capri over Aria all day long.

I asked just for fun, So I can call her a true Black Sable, Her Dam was Bi-color, so she either carries bi or solid black besides the sable. It is a beautiful color anyhow. This one below looks to throw blacks, so I am calling it another Black Sable. This one actually has his own video and threads as well.

I think working dogs need to look good as well as work well.

Looking good has an effect on working ability as well. If you look good you command respect, and so on.

vk4gsd, did you say you had no pedigree? If you don't have a pedigree you can DNA test the agouti Loci for black to see if your dog carries black if it matters to you. Post a picture!

lineage, i was referring to the coloration of this dog you posted in second last pic;

SG Garak von Heksterhorst

which seems a common coat color so was surprised you call it black sable unless i have gotten confused in the thread?

no pedigree or photo, you yube won't upload a jpeg apparently.

the  vid i posted here some weeks ago is the latest i got, the dog is some months older now than the images in last vid turning 3 in late may. forward to the end of the vid for dog at about 2.5yo and tell me what color, i thought sable but according to you he is a black sable as per SG Garak von Heksterhorst coloration. if anything he has gotten darker now than in vid.

and no i do not have a ped;

This is Zidanes daughter   Bossie..not sure if some do not called her black sable.....

In some pics she looks grey   Dark grey or gray?

In the fall she is very black then in spring the lighter under hairs show more...after shedding coat

Lineage, I didn't mean you- I mean the "craze" of having to have the darkest sable you can find and really having no other criteria to speak of while dog shopping. I did not mean to imply that I do not like how Aria looks; I think she's stunning as a whole...structure, expression, movement...and plus I just love her because she's Aria, lol. I just get a bit "weirded out" if you will, about the attention she seems to attract from utterly clueless onlookers and potential buyers. The dogs who are purchased as novelties always seem to end up in the worst places.

Her dam IS a bicolor...Wink Smile

I love the look of those super super dark sables. I'd really love for the next dog I get to be that color, though looking at the 2 dogs  and cat I have/had, I seem to be stuck in the solid black category. I guess it's true - once you go black... Omg Smile

This dog is one of the blackest sables I've met. I wish I had a better full-body picture of him to share. He is the total package too, good-looks, likes to work, and an awesome temperament to boot!! :)
