DEMI IS NOT MY PUPPY. I do not know the breeder or the owner of this pup. This pup popped up on FB on one of the groups. Someone asked for a pedigree and I looked at it. THIS IS NOT MY PUPPY!!!!  Though her pedigree brought the topic to mind as I do like Pike and can appreciate him in a pedigree. I just notice that he is in almost EVERY "decent" bred liver's pedigree I have seen. Once again this is NOT my pup nor do I know her breeder or her owner.

My question to this all is, Why do people try to hide such important information. Seriously, why delete the pedigree? IS it because someone is ashamed of what they produced or it is because they don't care and will breed again to make money off something that is frowned upon.? That is why the breed is the way it is, too many unethical breeders breeding for the wrong reasons. JMO

Wonder if  poster got threatened to take it down...

Well too many people already saw it and I guess whoever owns Dione does not worry about everyone seeing the LIVER

Hope it is healthy and he never breeds it..Just train her and love her . She can do rescue, Sar, schutzhund or anything possible.

No use to delete and hide..

The truth cannot be hidden too many breeders already know how the liver, and blues are found.  it needs to be known as well as all the health facts on dogs also.

Dione vom Noble Craft

Dione vom Noble Craft is a beautiful dog and deserves to be loved and seen... Who cares if she is liver colored.

This pedigree is not the only liver producing one and may never produce another one.

Pike was behind the first Panda GSD (father's father, IIRC). However, the Panda gene is a spontaneous mutation--which means it was *not* inherited. It's a dominant gene that did not exist before the mutation that created that first Panda. If it did, one of her parents would have had to show the Panda coloration--because it is a dominant coloring.

I agree YR. There is nooooothing wrong with Demi. No reason to "hide" her. And when I made this I by no means was intending to hurt someone or bash or anything. But it is the pedigree that made me realize that I see pike all to often in peds of livers. She has a pedigree for work that's for sure. Hopefully whoever has them will give them a job. I personally would not and do not advise anyone to breed a liver and I'm not sure that is have the balls to do a repeat unless the working ability is phenomenal I would then maybe consider. ;) but she's not a reject. :)

I know the breeder, Demi is Dione. The new owners changed her name so the pedigree was changed accordingly.

CrashKerry, Thanks for clarifing that for us concerning the name change. Wonder why the owner or breeder if not the same person didn't say that.

I am serious that about two weeks ago, I linked a panda shepherd to another shepherd through Pike, and I was threatened with a lawsuit for slander...

I mean really now...It is what it is, and No, I didn t take the link down. The sad truth is, these color s would be clearly more visible if people could lise the ignorance that comes with it.

I often wonder if that is the reason for some of these seemingly small litters out of top kennels...

The woman that threatened to sue me is this "big time" trainer/breeder in my area. A know it all, know nothing

Claims she breeds to strict SV rules, her dog is SAR dog, as was the mother...than no titles, no hip scores, basicly nothing on a few generations behind that.

No BH, breed survey, etc., etc., but Pike is in the pedigree 5-6 generations back and also in the litters sire pedigree a few generations back, her big selling point..PIKE..on both ends, so I just put Frankie the panda up, with Pike closer up in the pedigree,

And WOW...this be-otch snapped...lol   (facebook fun)

The breeder does not read these message boards, was not even aware her puppy's pedigree was being discussed until I brought it to her attention. She asked me to post the clarification for her.

The pedigree of the first panda shepherd: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=542954-lewcinkas-franka-von-phenom

Again, this is NOT an inherited trait for this first occurence--it was a sponteous mutation, not from a gene/trait that either of her parents passed on.
