as I have noticed during these days as I have started reading and posting in these forums, some people from the US get to purchase dogs from Europe.
So I don't know much about how it is really supposed to work with such distance, and a person has turned to me with a few questions about one of my puppies.
She wants to make sure that getting this puppy registered as an AKC would not be an issue once it arrives (as the puppy is an FCI IKC)
plus how exactly do you re-register him as an AKC?

Would also like to ask about the shipping expenses, how much would it cost to ship a 4 month old XL puppy from this area (which is kinda close to Europe, then I could know more or less)

and one more question, as I got to read about so many scams that mostly the US citizens have to go through, how can I assure a person that this is a reliable place. How should we let her pay for example in the most secure method?

anything you could add from own experience I would more than appreciate and will be glad to hear

I wish more breeders would do this, but in regards to making sure the buyer know its a real kennel, and with real dogs would be the following:

1. Pictures of the litter/or puppy with a current date in the corner

2. Video with date and perhaps time dated on it as well.

3. If she doesn't have it, the parents registered numbers so she can look them up and verify herself about the parents of the puppy in question.

I'm not a breeder, but for my peace of mind that is what I would ask a breeder for. To re-register the buyer would need the complete pedigree recongized from the country of the home kennel club (AKC, UKC, C(a)KC, FCI, etc.). Here is the full list of requriments in the link:

https://www.akc.org/rules/special_registry_services.cfm

Ellispark, I just want to say thank you for taking the time out to answer her questions (from the point of view of a potiental puppy buyer, myself). I like breeders like you! (You know the overseas breeders that take time out for customers from another country!)

You know this stuff is so simple...I mean if We (people...breeders...buyers...etc) would just treat people like we'd like to be treated all of this would take care of itself...

Ellispark, I am a smale breeder from Holland and I have shipped many puppy's to other countries.  The price of shipping depends on the place where the pup is flying to

I always try to stay in contact with the buyer who buy pups from me and send them every week pictures or video's of the litter before they are going to the new owners. I know there are also a lot of scams in this but all of this is also affect the honest breeders who are doing their best.

I always tell people if they are able to fly in they are welcome to come and collect their pup sometimes that is cheaper than shipping them depending in which state you live.

this is something that i always discuss with the new buyers. About payment well there are several ways to do that you have paypall or banktransfers those are save
