With all due respect, Mac, this thred has tried to die a natural death several times and was shaken awake by you....let it go, it will sink into the abis if you let it.

If breeders would just read the book Von Stephanitz wrote which is VERY detailed, and then stuck with his breeding plan then all of this discusion would be mute. I intend to breed in a way that if he were alive today he would be pleased with what he sees. A dog that can work, in structure, intelligence, temperament and movement. I want the dog that" Can take down a three hundred pound man and then give comfort to a six year old." No more light pigment either as Stephanitz said that he found that the weaker the pigment the softer the temperament. Sorry to you who like the "look" create your own breed then.

The weaker the pigment the softer the temperament !

Good piece of info, but is that a confirmed fact?

i bought a gsd bitch 17 months old was delivered on video dog was super drive grip power size elbows good dog bought from a very good kennel went out yesterday her drive was very high very good focus lovely bites hold grate sleeve work .then i took away sleeve decoy put a little pressure on her she bleeding shit herself lay on the ground made herself look as small as possible .Now theirs the decline in the gsd character to much drive and no bleeding nerve .first dog i bought off video and the last i am fuming .i always look for nerve before drive got caught this time .im bulling

it is time people realize full calm grips and fast longbites dont equal courage and strong nerves at allLightbulb

full calm grips and fast longbites ......needed for ipo.

courage and strong nerves ........Not needed for ipo. Maybe a correlation to decline in character of gsd.

duke i know that .every video i saw of her she never backed away she  obviously new the decoys and had some comfort around him

But how many generations have been selected for breeding based on titles. Also, some people don't know that biting sleeve with familiar decoy Is not sufficient test for nerve strength.

she didn't just bite sleeves she worked without equipment and was very descent .her pedigree is really good seen some dogs from same litter very good solid dog that why i chose this bitch some earlier dogs from same pedigree have made very good police dog
