She was a nut, and still is LOL

Her handler wants out of K9... love life persuits I think trump dogs so she will retire to me within the next year. I'd be happy to take some video when she comes home.

Most of the videos I have are of when they were puppies. Ball work and such.

bubba is trying to multiply his numbers by telling the same story of the same pup he sold to a handler that then certified every few pages. Lol way to go bubba.

Thanks again for sharing, Melba. I like her!

I have seen a litter of SL/WL grow up in a club I used to train with. They were all fairly consistent with one another, average ball drive, good hunt drive, social, stable, slightly below average nerves, but while "in drive" they would push through their insecurities. Most bit well. The sire(WL) was very social, great hunt and ball drive, good food drive. Calm, full grips. I never saw the SL dam work, so of course can't comment on her.

Although they weren't my cup of tea, I think they turned out as best as they could given the lack of proper socialization and incorrect training.

It wouldn't be fair to me to make a judgment on SL/WL crosses since my only experience with them didn't set them up to be their full potential, so I am glad to see credible breeders posting videos of their crosses.

I have put up my pedigrees and proof .. the most vocal naysayers have no proof of anything they say .. SSDD for Hired Dog .. if you know of a dog that is SL X WL that is not a good dog then show the pedigree.. if you don't know the pedigree then you are blowing smoke and don't really know the dog.

I posted Axel because the dip sh*its were blah blah blahing about proof .. Axel worked 6 - 8 years and retired lived until 11+ years (Born Feb 2001).  The dog that replaced him ( Enzo ) was a WL GSD import from the Czech Republic that cost $6500 plus $2000 training and died after less than 4 years on the job from health problems unrelated to his K9 work.  Enzo ( Czech WL import ) started 2009 and died 2013 so less than 4 years .. may have been bloat or pancrease problems .. not sure.

Sniffing out crime

The town hopes its newest police dog will sniff out crime just as well as his pooch predecessor.

Enzo, a 17-month-old, black German Shepherd, was picked to replace Axle, a German Shepherd who patrolled Cary and Carrboro for the past seven years. Axle recently retired.

“We are so grateful for the Axle’s service to our police department and the local communities over the years, and we look forward to having Enzo do the same,” said Cary Police Maj. Tony Godwin.

Cary started its K-9 program in 2005. In the past two years, the town has used its dogs to investigate over 600 cases.

Axle helped locate missing seniors and children, tracked runaway suspects and found concealed drugs and money. And he met more than 3,000 children and their parents during community events.

Axle’s handler, Officer Seth Everett, is now training with Enzo in Chapel Hill. The team works on agility drills, narcotics detection and other tracking skills. “It’s going really well so far,” he said. “We hope to be out of training and working on cases in March.”

The town paid $6,500 for Enzo and will spend $2,000 more to train him for three months. Some of that money came from the police department’s Citizens Assisting Police team, which donated $1,000.

In November 2013, K9 Chase graduated from a 14-week K9 training program in Cary, NC. K9 Chase is a brindle German Shepherd from Holland. Officer Everett also functions as the K9 unit trainer having attended K9 Instructor School in Florida in the spring of 2011.  Chase was selected as the sixth canine to serve our Town following the untimely passing of K9 Enzo in May, 2013.

— The Town of Cary will double the size of its K-9 officer program this weekend when Officer Seth Everett and his four-legged partner, Axle, hit the streets for the first time as the town’s new K-9 team.

With the new addition, Cary will be able to provide canine assistance seven days a week and expand coverage of its program, police said. K-9 teams assist in locating missing persons, recovering evidence, searching for narcotics and apprehending criminals.

“Canine officers are tried and true law enforcement tools that add safety, speed and a keen sense of smell to the job at low costs and with low risk to the public,” said Cary Police Chief Pat Bazemore. “Seth and Axle are a proven team, and we are proud to have them join Jeremy and Max as our newest K-9 unit.”

Everett joined the Cary Police Department in October 2007, bringing 10 years of experience and national certification as a police canine handler. His dog, Axle, is a 6-year-old German shepherd that a Cary citizen donated to Everett.

Everett and Axle worked as a K-9 unit for the Carrboro Police Department for four years before coming to Cary.  The pair joins Master Officer Jeremy Burgin and Max, who kicked off the town’s K-9 service in 2005.

Cary will pay $1 per year to lease Axle and will spend about $15,000 to equip the additional K-9 unit. Food and medical expenses for Axle are being donated by Veterinary Specialty Hospital and Mayfair Animal Hospital in Cary, who also provide free medical care for Max.

Donations from community partners have helped the town defer costs and make Cary’s K-9 program a greater success, Bazemore said.

“The community has shown tremendous support for the Town’s K-9 program since it launched three years ago, and we are pleased to expand this highly praised and embraced service,” Bazemore said.

I am a dip shit for wanting video of a claimed police dog? LOL ok.

I guess you haven't comprehended what I am trying to get at.....being a police dog means NOTHING, unless you can show it was one of quality. Was it an actual quality working dog, or was it a GSD riding around the back of a police car?

For the 100th time, I requested video because there is such a discrepancy on police dogs.  Can't really brag and say you have produced police dogs if it is something that I have mentioned in one of my examples.

Hired dog the only lost people are the ones that believe you when you have nothing but words and no dogs to prove any pretentions ( as in pretend ) which you offer.  This thread has been successful in that those with dogs good or bad have participated and those without have respected the original post of the thread  .. Who owns or has owned a WL X SL cross .. facts not opinions .. so far Hired Dog has had only pretend dogs .. no SL X WL dogs as examples just blah blah blah.  Please come up with an example that fits the thread or make up one Hired Dog.

YES you are .. the Cary Police Department and Axel's owner Seth do not need to prove anything to people such as yourself nor do I.  You have nothing to contribute to the discussion as your knowledge is a mile wide and an inch deep.
