i Have a dog of german shephered breed of 7month old. she was so active and enegtic everytym that people use to get amaze. this month of august, i went for trip and she was active whole journey. we came back after a tiring trip. she was doing great. and all of sudden when i came back at 1:pm for my lunch, she was not jumping and just doing cooing. i again left her and came back at 6:30 pm and found her restricted activity. i than immediately took her to vet and the doctor adviced me for architol inj, tonophopahane. I am doctor by proffsion. so i didnt admit her and gave inj by myself. its been a week now she find difficult to sit. And no signs of improvment been seen. i have started neurobion inj 2days ago with calcium sandoz. but her condition is same. today i took her to district hospital here and asked for the diagnosis, but got no answer and same treatment plan. so i assumed and again asked is it "myelopathy". the doctor say may be.
I am concend and want to know the diagnosis. Also if its myelopathy or not. she eats wells, pee and motion all are good. but she just lie on floor. And seeing her in this way, kills me.
can anyone help me

No visible pain, no limping, no fever?
Are there ticks in your area?
Hips, knees, elbows, back?
Did you run a blood panel?
Did something happen during vacation?
Might be anything from Pano to Brucellosis, DM at that age would be more than uncommon.
All the best,
Susie

Myelopathy (DM) doesn't come on suddenly like this. It is slow and gradual and I have never heard of it affecting a dog at such a young age.

You really need to take her back to the vet and have a full workup done: blood panel, x-rays of spine, etc. As Susie said, there are many things that it could be.

One thing to check for would be wobbler syndrome, which is due to a malformation of some of the verterbrae. It is one problem that shows up around this age.

Her blood report all were normal.i had her liver function test done, its under normal range.kidney function is normal. total leucocyte count was 10,800. Hb was decresed which was 8gm.
she doesnt do cooing if i check her all four limbs. so probably the limbs are normal. x-ray of all limb was done in my hospital which was normal. x-ray of vertebrae couldnt be take as because of her positioning.
She dont have ticks and lice. She had Gastrointestinal problem last month. her abdomen increase like a ballon and she was unable to walk cause of heaviness. than i take her to vet, had deworming done beside PPI, dezorange and sucralfate syp treatment. she improvment.
and in the trip, nothing wrong happened as far as i remember.

Just thought about it - sounds ridiculous, but may she come in heat for the first time? Might be...
We are not able to see your dog, so I´d check for almost everything right now.

i have taken to vet today morning and he asked me to continue inj.calcium sandoz, inj neurobion, inj tonophophane. tab. petjoint, tab fluranizine. for 3 days and than to review after that.
i am really worried for her. everytime i come back from hospital and see her, make me more sick.
i troubled many vet telephonically and they all want to see her. i have showed to the regular vet here and he too asked me to continue the same treatment.
she dont limp. Its difficult for her to stand when she sat. and when she start walking she gets v shaped vertebrae. hind limbs position takes small steps and front legs are bent like rickets.
i usually carry her if she need to pee or pass stool. she can bend her hind legs when peeing.

there is the disease called hypokelmia periodic paralysis due to potassium deficency in human due to vomiting and diarrhea. so i tried her to give elctrolyte powder to her but it didnt help.
She had loose motion and one episode of vomiting in journey. so i didnt feed much that day and gave norflox tz tab. her loose motion stopped and she was doing fine. the very next day morning i went to hospital and when came to lunch she was not jumping at me. and till evening she was not walking. so i took her to vet. and vet said might be she having some internal injury and to continue the inj.calcium sandoz, inj architol, inj. tonophosphane.and added some pain killer like nimusulide. but i didnt give nimuslide next day as she was not having pain and also that can cause her GI bleed.

Out of this description, forget about the heat.
Sounds severe, I´d try to get a second opinion, might even be a slipped disc.

her all limbs, have proper sensory and motor function. but i dont understand the reason of sudden restricted walking. She just lie on floor

Where did you go on your trip? Is there any instances of similar conditions in dogs where you went?
