I cannot "verify" the pedigrees, but I will say I have seen several liver GSDs from dogs with Pike in their lineage or linebred off of Pike. So that makes it more believable for me.
Here's another example

Lol, overreacting? Sounds like Darlene has more knowledge than you might ever have.

Darlene stick around as I think you have a lot to offer, listening to the naysayers is like listening to that nagging teacher who couldn't figure out why the class tuned her message out.

LOL admin. Not sure how you can make that assumption with the very little info you know about me.

She is certainly entitled to her opinion, as I am also. Quit making the person who disagrees with the OP the bad guy. Not always the case.

Although I do totally 100% disagree with breeding for blues, at least she seems to have good ethics behind it.

I know more than you think, lol.

by hntrjmpr434 on 06 November 2015 - 06:11

Is that so?
Is it because you all are able to read our emails? Can't think of how else you would know.

No, I can't log into your email account and read your emails. And NO, I cannot read your PMs here, either. See the privacy statement below - Oli takes it very very very seriously. Quit listening to what others say and understand one thing here - your friends aren't always what they appear. Matter of fact Oli (ya know, the owner of the site) makes every admin digitally sign a confidentiality agreement. Ask any current or former admin and they will flat out tell you, anyone or the nimble minded lonesome souls who keep passing that rumor around that we cannot read PMs. It simply is not true no matter who says it. BTW, keep thinking.

No need to be defensive, it was a question, not an accusation.
Not throwing stones here Mick.

I just thought the owners of the dogs he's reporting his two off color dogs come from might want to know he's using the names and reputations of their lines in a fraudulant manner.
Could you please explain what is Fraudulant.

I'm with GSD, and if you are still reading I would seriously like to know if the member you are talking about uses this site for their activity.
PM me if you would prefer, thanks

In response to the OP:

1) Regarding verification of an AKC pedigree:
You can look up a dog in the online database of the AKC which (in recent entries) provides registration #, DOB, color, gender, and DNA profile # if applicable. It does not provide pedigree information. You need to either have the name or the registration number to find the dog's entry in the database. If the dog is in the database, you can purchase an online 'research' pedigree from the AKC. The AKC relies on breeders' information and only checks whether the parents are registered in the same breed. The AKC records the color reported by the breeder but does not check whether the color of the offspring is possible given the reported colors of the parents.

2) Regarding the sire and dam in the posted pedigree:
I looked up the sire and the dam in the AKC database. The sire has an entry in the AKC database with a DNA profile number, the dam does not.
Since the OP was in contact with the breeder, she could ask the breeder for a copy of the pedigrees.

3) The two German kennels in the pedigree, Salztalblick and Holtkämper Tor, can justly be regarded as commercial breeders, given their 'production' numbers. On paper both kennels are split into several different 'kennels' to circumvent the SV's cap on the number of litters a kennel can register with the SV. These kennels are not separate and are typically in the name of a family member, and are located at the same address or just around the corner. Per regulation, the SV doesn't allow commercial breeding. Per regulation.
I do not know whether they sell pups with 'off' colors to the US. Would it surprise me? No.
Whatever we may or may not think about 'off' colors, which is a different debate.

4) Killing healthy puppies ("culling") is illegal in Germany.

5) I ask you to kindly refrain from calling any dog "garbage". Every living being has a worth of her/his own, irrespective of what we want of the animal.
A dog may not be considered breed worthy for whatever reason, and the criteria for breed worthiness differ among people. But that dog still deserves the respect that any living being deserves.
