Maybe it's time to play their game... get the press involved and start giving them the facts, about the KC and their overall ineptitude regarding basic animal welfare.  Someone will be interested in learing how the KC lets dogs / breeders/ owners down, all for the sake of money!  We've been too reasonable for too long imo.  How could the two tier registration system be anything but hugely beneficial... to EVERY breed?

i agree with missbeeb. We should get the press into this.

Make them tease & torture the KC, till they give the fcts, about their plans for the GSD.

Also add some of our opinions into it

What do you people say?

It is about time we  as a group in the whole of the country tell the KC  to go and stick it !!! Lock stock and barrell.
Why don't we register all of our dogs with the Southern Ireland K.C. or the FCI? Apply under their terms & conditions to run shows register dogs etc. Let those that are left become the Alsation.
We are being held to ransom over their words 'Double Handling'  and that they percieve a problem with the hindquarters of dogs with hocks touching or almost touching were most unsatisfactory'  Yet any one who does nothing except put 2 dogs together can become an Accredited Breeder! OMG All for the sake of £17.00 per year. Then the puppy buying public can be reassured that they are buying from the best!!!!  Is it only the breed clubs that have received this letter are All Breed Shows being sent the same letter? If any one can find out it would be a start.

is the FCI recognisable. Also is their standard, like how we wish to produce our dogs.
Which is like the proper west german showline

Perhaps it's about time to do what i have advocated for some time now,  BREAKAWAY.   Lets see if the people who are perceived to " matter "  have the stomach, or the balls to instigate it, because, lets face we are in a no lose situation, even the " pot hunters " will be knackered, they wont have a pot to p....  in.

IN THE BBC FILM WHICH SPARKED OFF THIS NONSENSE  2 OTHER BREEDS WERE ALSO MENTIONED BULLDOGS AND CAVILIERS  HAVE THIER CCS ALSO BEEN SUSPENDED OR IS IT JUST US ?

by A Shepherd on 24 July 2009 - 17:07

I dont know lets see, do Bulldog and Cavi owners consistantly break the kennel club rule on Double Handling? Do they threaten to mow people down around their ringsides by unaccetable methods of attraction? Do they have a seperate group within their own breed who consistantly complain about the 'other sides' behaviour and shape of their dogs back? Do they have another kennel club sanctified name for their breeds other than that which is it know world wide? Answere to all the above is NO. Then would hazard a guess these other breeds didnt recieve such a letter. Do non of you think that for once the way forward might just be to listen rather than attack , co-operate rather than be obstructive? After all just listen to yourselves,  what exactly are you fighting for here? The right to promote unsound, roached back dogs and to run around a ring like lunatics let loose out of an asylum? Are you seriously advocating those are worth breaking away from the kc and fighting for, seriously? If so then we surely do have far more serious  problems in our breed than those attributed to dogs.

Just re-checked my KC Gazette to find that Crufts have got Mr. Gary Gray judging GSD in 2012.
So me thinks it is the normal victimization that the KC are doing.
Health has very little to do with it. It's all about Double handling!

"EXTRACTS"
INTERVIEW WITH THE NEW SV-NATIONAL BREED WARDEN
REINHARDT MEYER
references to "double handling" emboldened

WUSV aktuell: You are judging the male working dog class in the upcoming National Breed Show (Sieger Show)
in Braunschweig. Will there be innovations for the exhibitors here and how do you intend to set the main focuses?

ANSWER: This event is a traditional event of our club and is well though-out at heart. We have the good luck that we have highly motivated members in our ranks, who ensure year after year of flawless proceedings of this large-scale event in collaboration with a very well-functioning main branch office. Nevertheless, I think we can do somewhat more for the actual main players of this breed show. I am not thinking about the dogs and their handlers when I say that; they have it relatively easy. I am thinking about those people who make the dog fit for this event; they are the same as those who also guide them in their guarding activities and the same as those who motivate them afterwards from the outside in the competition. They are the members, who influence to a high degree the aesthetics of a class and the same as those who “are locked up” at the front of the stadium and are “supervised” and carry out the “hardest work”. I know all this from my own experience. In this regard, the breed committee is trying, in collaboration with the event management, to find ways to make their work easier.

As a direct result of this Kennel Club letter dated 23rd July 2009, and the Kennel Clubs blatant attempt to hold the GSD breed and particularly GSD exhibitors to ransom, VIDEX GSD have decided we will cease entering and exhibiting our GSD in Kennel Club licensed shows & events as from 1st January 2012.

We have also decided to Register any VIDEX GSD Litters with an alternative LITTER REGISTRATION Organisation, again this will be in effect as from 1st January 2012.
