Hello, I have imported a few dogs this past year and I am looking for help with how to register them with the AKC. It's a bit tough with some of the sellers who do not speaka da English or who have no knowledge of AKC.

I'm just curious about what papers I need to have in hand; one breeder said I "only" need the "export pedigree".

While I'm old as dirt and been titling dogs for decades, this is my first experience with importing dogs in a while.

This is a Dobermann, but I'm thinking it may be the same for GSD (which I am also trying to figure out for a dog from Germany). It appears I have a scorecard "vykonnostni a vystavni prukaz psa" and an export pedigree and an additional paper called an "abroad confirmation".

Any help will be much appreciated!

If you have a dog with Czech papers then all you need is a copy of your Pedigree/Registration and your Export Pedigree (just send copies NOT the originals)...
For your dog from Germany if it has Pink SV Papers then you need to send in a copy of your Pedigree/Registration and a Bescheinigung (Letter of Ownership)...

You need the export pedigree and the abroad confirmation in your name . Then you need to fill out the akc application and send copies of the pedigree front and back and the abroad confirmation with it as well
